Durn House has a reputation for ‘Fabulous Food’, and has been rated as one of the best places to eat in Portsoy, Banffshire and Aberdeenshire. We have our own kitchen garden supplying herbs and other produce which regularly appear on our menus.
Our Menus are designed and prepared by our Head Chef and his team, in house, using the freshest local ingredients from the best suppliers in Aberdeenshire.

There is no better start to the day than enjoying breakfast at Durn House but we have decided to take the experience one step further and now all guests can enjoy the Durn House Breakfast in the privacy of their own room.
With a cooked breakfast menu including classic cooked favourites, plus our popular home-made granola, chefs dropped scones with compote plus jam, marmalade and spinach muffins, your most important meal of the day is also likely to be the most delicious one.
Breakfast can be enjoyed by all resident guests, and non resident guests, by prior arrangement.
Our charming Guest House makes the ideal retreat for those looking to indulge with fabulous local dining.
Also open to non-residents, our Head Chef, Paul, changes our seasonal menus to showcase the best local produce and as much as possible is made in-house

Full Alcohol Licence
Durn House has a full alcohol licence.
We stock many popular local distillery whiskies, unique locally distilled gin's and various wines.
Drinks can be ordered from 12pm. daily from our cosy bar which has an open fire in the winter months.
From Pot to Plate
Organic, Seasonal and Sustainable are words heard a lot lately yet that is what we have here at Durn House with our own small but developing herb, fruit, and vegetable garden.
Our 'secret' kitchen garden is tucked away behind the granite and stone walls of Durn House where we have raised beds and borders including herbs, fruits, vegetables and salads ready to adorn our guests plates.
Our head chef Paul is in charge of proceedings and is looking to expand the range of produce over time.
So from our herb butters to our Rhubarb cake come and taste our 'Pot to Plate' surprises here at Durn House.
